Chief Ted A. Wittke is a graduate of Raritan High School, a Marine Corps veteran and accomplished leader who began his law enforcement career in February 1999. He has held the ranks of Patrolman, Sergeant, Detective Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief before being sworn in as Hazlet Township’s 6th Police Chief in 2020. Chief Wittke is a graduate of the 273rd Session of the FBI National Academy. He holds a Bachelor and Master’s of Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickenson University. Chief Wittke is an Accredited Chief/Command Executive through the NJ Association of Chiefs of Police and also a Certified Public Manager through Rutgers. Chief Wittke currently sits on the executive board for the NJ Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates and in 2020 he was appointed as the Chief Coordinator for the Monmouth County Rapid Deployment Force.
