Profile
Dr. Alexis Piombino is currently employed as the Director of Special Services for the East Hanover Township School District and is a member of the Rockaway Borough Board of Education. She also teaches classes in special education at a state university. Dr. Piombino has over twenty years of experience working with children with diverse abilities. After graduating with honors with a BA in Music Therapy, Dr. Piombino pursued her certification as a special education teacher. She worked in a private school for children with multiple disabilities prior to earning her MA in Learning Disabilities. Under this certification, Dr. Piombino worked as a LDTC for a public school in New Jersey. Dr. Piombino also holds certifications as a principal and superintendent and received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University. Dr. Piombino has extensive experience working with the Intervention and Referral Services Committee, 504 Committee, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and is also a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Dr. Piombino is also the president of her county professional organization and is an adjunct professor at a local State University.
