Profile
Dr. Lauren Madden is a Professor of Elementary Science Education at The College of New Jersey in Ewing New Jersey. She holds a PhD in Science Education, MS in Marine Science, and BA in Earth Sciences: Oceanography. Dr. Madden's work seeks to advocate for scientific literacy and the health of our planet through teaching and learning. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, US EPA, and New Jersey SeaGrant Consortium. Recently, she authored the NJSBA-sponsored Report on K-12 Climate Education Needs in New Jersey. She has written a textbook and more than 40 peer-reviewed book chapters and journal articles . She was recognized by the Association of Science Teacher Education (ASTE) as the 2021 Outstanding Science Teacher Educator of the year. Dr. Madden lives in Lawrenceville New Jersey with her husband, twin sons, dog, and cat.
