Lorraine Kunick, MPH, RDN, CHES manages the Nutrition Department at Maschio’s Food Services. She oversees the development of customized menus for students with life-threatening food allergies and special dietary needs, ensures USDA meal pattern compliance, menu and recipe development, wellness and health fairs, and nutrition education.
Lorraine introduced the state-of-the-art digital menu platform that our clients use daily. The menu platform provides specific menu item information like grams of carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Parents, students, school nurses, and school administrators can easily access the information they need on their desktops or through a mobile app. She is also responsible for having integrated USDA-approved nutrient analysis software into her department to ensure that our recipes meet the USDA standards for school meals.
She has a passion for connecting children to healthy, nutritious food in school cafeterias. Previous experience includes national community service and she was the first FoodCorps Service member to create a program to teach garden-based nutrition education to Atlantic City students with the help of AtlantiCare Healthy Schools. Lorraine graduated Cum Laude from Montclair State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science conc. Dietetics and a Master’s Degree in Public Health specializing in Community Health Education.
