Daniel J. Ross, Esq. serves as the Superintendent of Dunellen Public Schools, a position he has held since August 2022. A first-time superintendent, Mr. Ross has made strong connections with the Board, staff, and community and is looking forward to a collaborative and productive tenure in the district.

Prior to joining Dunellen, Mr. Ross served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Personnel of Madison Public Schools, where he oversaw all aspects of academic programming, professional development, human resources, and technology. While in Madison, Mr. Ross spearheaded many initiatives, such as the implementation of full-day kindergarten, the creation of over 20 new courses, the addition of instructional coaches, and the collaborative redesign of teacher evaluation. He also served as a member of the Drew University MAT Advisory Board.

Mr. Ross's career in education began in the Piscataway Public School District, where he served as Math Supervisor, Director of Scheduling, and high school math teacher, and he was selected as Piscataway High School’s Teacher of the Year in 2011. Since 2016, Mr. Ross has also participated in and presented on numerous teacher leadership initiatives with the New Jersey Department of Education, and in 2017 he was recognized for excellence in this area by the New Jersey State Board of Education.

In his personal life, Mr. Ross is happily married and is the proud parent of three children and a mini goldendoodle. He has a deep love for the arts and he has played music professionally for nearly 25 years. Mr. Ross earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, where he served on the Rutgers Law Review, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University. He has participated in both national and international educational training experiences and is a 2021 graduate of the District Administration Leadership Institute’s National Superintendent’s Academy.
