Profile

Suzanne Cornell has over 33 years of leadership experience in organizational and project management, partnerships, grant writing, and program development, including work on state and local boards and task forces that support health and wellness.
As Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement for NJ YMCA State Alliance, she leads and directs the National Diabetes Prevention Program in five New Jersey counties, as well as the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program. This work includes partnerships with five YMCAs where she oversees program development, implementation, promotion, data collection, and reporting.
Cornell is also responsible for securing and executing statewide grants, focused on chronic disease prevention, improving health outcomes for children, professional development for physical education, nutrition education and policy, and system and environmental change, as well as building relationships and collaborations with state and local organizations for advocacy.
Cornell directs the New Jersey YMCA Career Experience and Development Program in partnership with local colleges and universities to place undergraduate and graduate students in various professional fields at YMCA locations across the state.
She also serves as a board member on the New Jersey Chapter 17 Y Professional Network where she supports the School Age Child Care, Early Childhood Care and Education, Membership, and Health and Wellness Peer communities. She previously served as Executive Director at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Coatesville, PA, and at the former Twin Valley YMCA in Elverson, PA.
