After 13 years as a preschool teacher and elementary math facilitator, the opening of the George L. Catrambone School in Long Branch, NJ in 2014 gave me the amazing opportunity to begin my tenure as a K-5 STEM teacher implementing the PLTW Launch program. Watching my student succeed academically through collaboration, curiosity, ingenuity, and problem solving, has made my journey here such a rewarding experience. During this time, I was part of a team that brought Sustainability to the forefront of education in our school district. From lessons on single use plastic reduction, gardening, energy and water consumption and much more, a culture of sustainability has grown infinitely in our building and throughout our school district. We are fortunate to participate yearly in the Sustainable Jersey for Schools and Empowered Schools program and proud to call our students stewards for the environment.
